In addition to traditional physiotherapy techniques, our therapists are trained in manual therapy. Manual therapy is hands on treatment. This may be with mobilization or manipulation of the soft tissue or affected joints.
Manual therapy helps to improve range of motion and muscle flexibility as well as stability around joints. These techniques are generally introduced before or in conjunction with exercise.
Modalities such as electrical muscle stimulation, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), Rebox (a form of microcurrent) and acupuncture, assist in the healing process following injury or when there is pain, swelling or muscle spasm present.
